CMH Winner, Ed Freeman, dies at age 70 in Boise.

You're a 19 year old kid.
You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam .

It's November 11, 1967.

LZ (landing zone) X-ray.

Your unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 yards away, that your CO (commanding officer) has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns and you know you're not getting out.

Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again.

As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter.

You look up to see a Huey coming in. But ... It doesn't seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Captain Ed Freeman is coming in for you.

He's not Medi-Vac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway.

Even after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.

He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 3 of you at a time on board.

Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses and safety.

And, he kept coming back!! 13 more times!!
Until all the wounded were out. No one knew until the mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm.

He took 29 of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.

BLOOD CLOT/STROKE - NEW INDICATOR

Subject:  BLOOD CLOT/STROKE - NEW INDICATOR
Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator,  the Tongue
68E504C9BF224B9C9231A4B0AE39A31C@kimpc

I  will continue to forward this every time it  comes around!

STROKE: Remember  the 1st Three Letters.... S. T. R.

STROKE  IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a woman stumbled and took a little fall - she assured  everyone that she was fine (they offered to call  paramedics. She said she had just tripped over  a brick because of her new shoes.

They  got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of  food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Jane went about enjoying herself the rest of the  evening

Jane's husband called later  telling everyone that his wife had been taken to  the hospital -
(at 6:00  pm  Jane passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the  signs of a stroke, perhaps Jane would be with  us today. Some don't die. They end up in a  helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It  only takes a minute to read this...

A  neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke  victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the  effects of a stroke......totally. He said  the trick was getting a stroke recognized,  diagnosed, and then getting the patient  medically cared for within 3 hours, which is  tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank  God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR  . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a  stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately,  the lack of awareness spells disaster. The  stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage  when people nearby fail to recognize the  symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a  bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three  simple questions:

S  *Ask  the individual to SMILE.
T  *Ask  the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE  (Coherently)
(i.e. It is sunny out  today.)
R *Ask  him or her to RAISE BOTH  ARMS.

If  he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these  tasks, call emergency number immediately  and describe the symptoms to the  dispatcher.

New  Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your  Tongue

NOTE:  Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the  person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue  is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the  other,   that is  also an indication of a  stroke.

A  cardiologist says if everyone who gets this  e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that  at least one life will be saved.

I  have done my part. Will  you?Bob Lewis

The Glorious Empty Tomb

Adrian RogersThe Glorious Empty Tomb
Devotional thought from the messages of Adrian Rogers
The Adrian Rogers Legacy BibleBIBLE MEDITATION:
Ephesians 2:6 - “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Why is the empty tomb so glorious? Because it signifies more than just the fact that God raised Jesus from the dead. He raised you, too, to walk “in newness of life” (see Romans 6:4). I have come out of that grave. I have ascended. You have, too, if you are saved. Where is Christ today? Seated in the heavenlies. Where are you seated? In the same place. You don’t have to die to go to heaven. In Christ, you are seated in the heavenlies right now. We encourage our brothers and sisters by telling them to keep looking up, when we should be saying, “Keep looking down!” You’re already seated in the heavenlies, so you can look down on your problems. You, dear friend, have a brand new life!

ACTION POINT:
Take a moment and ask God to give you a brand new life or thank Him for the one He has already given you.
